My Language & Arts
I have also completed couple Language and Arts’ projects during my studies. These are some of my favors.
1. Belinda’s wanted poster
She’s a horse
She’s a kangaroo at sports
A complete tornado at cleaning
As playful as a happy seal
She is like a mouse at sneaking
As fast as a cheetah
Sometimes can be in a pickle
She thinks a penny saved is a penny earned
Sometimes has to bite her tongue
A amusing animal addict
Loves new languages
Belinda the bouncy bouncer
Small as a cat
Loud as a lion
Quiet as a mouse
Doesn’t judge a book by its cover
Thinks the grass is greener on the other side
Always says that no news is good news
2. The fox and the porcupine
One early morning a fox and porcupine were taking a walk, when suddenly a lion came charging towards them. When porcupine saw the lion, he pricked up his quills and stood there. When the lion saw this, he stopped and bolted away. When the fox saw this, he longed for the quills that porcupine had. So, he decided to kill porcupine on their next walk. Porcupine was suspicious because fox was acting differently. The next day, fox was ready to fight. Fox suddenly jumped on porcupine, but porcupine was faster and pricked out his quills. Then fox fell to the ground bleeding. The porcupine walked away and called out,” it is wise to be content with what you have.”
3. Zuni fetishes
Here is a paragraph of a fetish that has characteristics of me and characteristics that I want to have. A fetish is a Native American carving that gave the Zuni tribe good luck mostly when hunting. A fetish is also called a charm, an amulet, a talisman, or good luck pieces. A fetish also needs lots of care, by putting the fetish in a bowl with food. Zuni fetishes were powerful in the US government in the 1800’s. Other examples of fetishes from the Zuni tribe are the horses, one of the Zuni fetishes that have innate healing powers; the dolphin, a gentle and playful creature; the deer, that is a loving and gentle creature; the cat, a patient, and independent creature; the spider, a ingenuity and a creative creature; the Elk, a strong creature; the fox, a protective and can camouflage creature; the mole, keeper of underground and can connect with earth; and the hummingbird, an inspirational and a lucky animal.
The Native American fetish that I liked and chose is the eagle, an animal that can see everything, can fly directly at the sun, is multicolored, and is a messenger of the spirit. I chose this fetish because I usually like to know everything happening in my family, always wanted to look directly at the Sun. When someone gives us something, mom tells me to give something back to him or her. The attributes of the eagle that I chose are strong, kind and powerful.
One thing that I always had a question about is why there is a fetish of every animal? Some other information about fetishes is that the Zuni Tribe originally carved them from stone, shell, antler, or wood. The Zuni tribe carved them as hunting fetishes. The men took the fetishes to hunt because they would ensure a successful hunt. They thought that they would have a good life by bringing the fetishes to hunt. A man went to investigate the mysterious power of the fetishes that the Zuni made. Many people believe Zuni fetishes are new art forms with more detailed carvings on them. The Zuni people used it around as early as the 650 A.D. People think the spirit of the fetish is at its heart. But at the 1970’s the Zuni fetish carvings were very famous. At that time, only the Zuni people were allowed to use it. There are more than 600 fetish carvers today. The Zuni fetish’s favorite food to eat is cornmeal. Everybody who has fetishes should treat their fetish fairly so it will return good luck to its owner. Fetish carvers should be honored for their hard work carving fetishes. To this day, we still remember the beautiful and powerful Native American Zuni fetishes that are carved like the Zuni tribes culture.
4. Felix mystery conclusions
Dear all dogs, (and humans);
Bark to meet you! I am Sasha, Gene’s dog. But I am an undercover a FBI dog. When I smelled BOD MAN cologne, I had to use my paw to clear the smell because I almost fell down and fainted with four paws in the air.
Then I sniffed and I crept around and using my paw, I wafted and discovered that a person called Felix had poisonous cola. I first thought that a famous person was here so I was excited because I wanted his paw print and I barked and Alfredo herd me and he came running to see. He took a glimpse of Felix and ran to tell the others. I looked at the dead body and I thought I saw Felix open his eyes.
Later, I was a witness at the court and I barked out that Felix could still live because I thought that I saw him open his eyes. When I overheard that Felix has disappeared, I suspected that he ran away. This is my story.
So barking out,
Saha
